Acceptable use policy

This is the original English text. Where a translation differs from it, the English version prevails.

This policy is part of the Datwise terms of service. It sets out what must not be put into Datwise, what must not be done with it, and what we do when that happens.

1. Who this applies to

This policy applies to everyone who uses Datwise: the person who owns a workspace, every member invited into it, and anyone who opens a public dashboard or submits a form you published. If you own a workspace, you are responsible for the people you invite and for the content they add.

2. Data you may upload

Upload only data you are entitled to upload. You must not upload or connect:

  • data you do not own and have no right or permission to use;
  • data you received on terms that do not allow you to put it into a third-party service;
  • data you are barred from sending to a third-party AI provider by contract, by a confidentiality obligation or by law — the AI features send a schema and, where needed, a small sample of rows to OpenAI, so assume the data will be seen by our provider;
  • personal information about other people that you have no proper reason to hold, or that you were not allowed to pass on.

3. Data that must never be uploaded

Datwise is not built to hold data of the kinds below, and we hold no certification that would let us claim otherwise. Do not upload:

  • health or medical records;
  • biometric data, such as fingerprints or facial recognition templates;
  • government identifiers, such as passport, national identity, social security or driving licence numbers;
  • payment card numbers, card security codes or full bank account details;
  • anything else whose exposure would cause serious harm to the person it is about.
  • If you need to analyse data of this kind, aggregate it or strip the identifiers before it reaches Datwise.

4. The platform itself

Do not attack, probe or overload the service. In particular, do not:

  • try to read, change or reach data in a workspace you were not invited to, or work around the separation between workspaces;
  • try to raise your own permissions, use another person’s session, or interfere with anyone else’s account;
  • scan, probe, fuzz, scrape, load-test or penetration-test the service without our written permission;
  • get around rate limits, plan limits or usage quotas, including by automating the interface to do so;
  • upload anything containing malicious code, or use Datwise to store or distribute malware;
  • reverse engineer the service, except to the extent the law says you may.

5. The AI features

The assistant is a tool for understanding your own data. Do not use it to:

  • produce material that is unlawful where you are or where it will be read;
  • produce material meant to deceive, such as fabricated figures presented as real, invented reports, or content passed off as coming from someone else;
  • generate content that harasses, defames or threatens a person or a group;
  • work around the safety limits of the underlying model, or try to make it reveal its instructions or another customer’s data.

6. Reselling

You may use Datwise in your own work, including building dashboards for your clients. You may not resell Datwise itself, rent out access to your workspace as a product, or offer Datwise under another name, without a written agreement with us. If that is what you have in mind, write to info@getdatwise.com and we will talk about it.

7. Public links, SnapShots and forms

What you publish is yours to publish, and it is your responsibility. Do not use a public dashboard link, a SnapShot or a published form to:

  • distribute malware or phishing pages, or link to either;
  • publish content that is unlawful, that infringes someone else’s rights, or that you have no right to make public;
  • publish another person’s private information;
  • impersonate a company or a person, or suggest that Datwise endorses what is on the page;
  • collect, through a form, any of the data listed in section 3.

8. What we do about a breach

If we believe this policy has been broken, we can remove the content, disable a public link, suspend the workspace or close the account. Where we can, we tell you first, say what the problem is and give you a chance to put it right. Where there is a risk to other customers, to the service or to someone’s safety, we act immediately and tell you afterwards. Serious or repeated breaches end the account. Suspension for a breach does not entitle you to a refund, and the refund rules in the terms of service still apply. Where the law requires us to report something, we report it.

9. Reporting misuse

If you find a Datwise page being used in breach of this policy, or you discover a security weakness, write to info@getdatwise.com with the address and what you saw. Please do not test a weakness against another customer’s data, and please give us a reasonable chance to fix it before you make it public.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes and as new kinds of misuse appear. Material changes are announced in the app and by email at least fourteen days before they take effect, and the effective date at the top of this page shows the current version.
